The kinder+Sport Basketball Academy is a program created by kinder+Sport in Germany in 2011. It aims enthusing kids and teens with basketball. The kinder+Sport Basketball Academy is a six level performance program and unique in German sports. Since its launch the initiative has quickly grown to become the official youth program of the Deutsche Basketball Bundesliga Beko BBL (German Basketball League) and its clubs. It animates and motivates kids and teens between 7 and 15 years to learn and improve their basketball skills in an innovative circuit. In a four station parcours the kids are trained in the four key disciplines of basketball 4 disciplinary stations : "throwing", "passing", "dribbling" and "coordination" followed by a practical test Upon successful completion of a test, they can work their way up throughout the six levels – starting from a "Rookie" level up to the highest level "Allstar". Each of the six levels has a themed colored jersey (white, yellow, blue, green, red and black ). The black "Allstar" jersey has been awarded three times since 2011. The successful cooperation with the Deutsche Basketball Bundesliga ensures access to "kinder+Sport Basketball Academy" throughout Germany. Until now, ten selected professional clubs have implemented the "kinder+Sport Basketball Academy" in their youth program. This allowed over 20.000 kids to actively run the Basketball circuit in a total of 150 events in 2013/14.
